Hybrid cars in Ukraine 2025: what is behind the record growth in demand?

The Ukrainian hybrid car market in 2025 is demonstrating rapid growth, which has already set a new record. According to the Association of Ukrainian Automobile Manufacturers ("Ukravtoprom"), in May more than 3 thousand hybrid passenger cars were registered in the country - this is 43% more than in May last year. The share of new hybrids also increased significantly, amounting to 60% compared to 55% last year. In total, in 2025, more than 11 thousand hybrid cars were registered in Ukraine for the first time, which is a clear indication of the transition of Ukrainians to more environmentally friendly and economical vehicles.

The most popular hybrids - who is leading?

The undisputed leader in the new hybrid car segment remains the Toyota RAV4 — 439 such cars were registered in May 2025. The Nissan Qashqai is in second place with 91 cars sold, and the top three models are rounded out by the premium crossover Audi Q8 with 79 sales.

Among used hybrids with mileage, the Toyota Prius leads (101 cars), followed by the Kia Niro (65 units) and the Ford Fusion US (59 cars). The popularity of these models is due to their reliability, affordability, and attractive performance characteristics.
