“Pass fire, water and copper pipes”: how WEST AUTO HUB competed in the hurdles race at RACE NATION in Kyiv

Overcome kilometers on the field, forest, water, mud. And all this must be run as soon as possible, because this is RACE NATION - the largest and most unique all-Ukrainian project - an obstacle race. The latter are related to ascents and descents, water, swamp, sand, cold, height, balance, movement of objects, fire and physical activity.

The race took place on Saturday, October 9, at the motorcycle track in the village of Pies near Kiev. WEST AUTO HUB decided to test its strength, so the brave racers Oksana Brechko , Dmytro Markin , Nazar Mikhalevych , Yuriy Stasiuk and Dmytro Gaponchuk went to the capital of our country to cover a distance of 3 kilometers.

Several hundred participants from different cities of Ukraine came to the competition. And even more fans: someone with family and children or colleagues. It was possible to cover distances both individually and in a team. So whole companies competed on the racetrack.

Before the start of the race, each participant was given a registration package, which contained a bracelet with a chip. He recorded the time during which a person will cover the distance.

10 minutes before the start, the racers were warmed up to warm up and be ready for serious physical exertion. Even +3 degrees of heat in the air did not frighten the "Vestavtohabists": they were all set to go this way.

At RACE NATION it was possible to run three distances: 3, 5 and 10 km. The route laid out for the participants was marked with white ribbons. Instructors were waiting for them at each location, telling them the rules of how to overcome each obstacle.

The obstacles were different. The WEST AUTO HUB team climbed over a mountain of tires and under a spiked wire, carrying logs and buckets of water, climbing steep climbs.

There was a lot of water: to climb over the "pool" on the movable "Moving Wall", risking falling into it, to climb over the ditch, to go through the foam in the huge "washing machines".

Special impressions were left after passing the obstacle called "Ramp". This is a wooden structure 4/5 meters high, to which are attached ropes that facilitate the passage of obstacles. The participant must climb the vertical wall at speed and catch the edge of the ramp to climb.

"Vestavtohabivtsi" moved wooden beams with a huge sledgehammer, carried and rolled a concrete ball under the hill.

If any obstacle could not be passed, there were "fines" for it: to make 15 burpees or run one lap.

At the finish you had to climb a tall structure and go down the hill to a very, very cold pool. The participant was watered from above. Emotions of WEST AUTO HUB racers you see in these photos. Dmytro Haponchuk was among the top thirty who finished fastest. Dmytro Markin (49th place) and Oksana Brechko (58th place) showed no less good results.

It was hard, wet, cold, but very brave. We are proud of our daredevils!
