Top 10 "freshly launched" electric cars - results of April 2025

Imports of used electric vehicles, or “prigon,” remain the main source of replenishment of the Ukrainian electric vehicle market. This term covers all methods of delivering cars from abroad, regardless of whether they are transported by sea or delivered by car carrier.

In April 2025, the share of "freshly driven" electric vehicles amounted to 57.3% of the total number of registered electric cars in Ukraine. This is more than the combined sales of new cars and domestic resales of used electric vehicles.

During the month, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with 4,704 BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) electric vehicles that were imported after being used abroad.

Compared to April 2024, imports increased by 40.6%, but slightly decreased by 0.9% compared to March 2025.

We remind you that 2025 is the last year when preferential customs clearance conditions for electric cars will apply. Demand is expected to increase, delays in clearance and an increase in cost are possible. Therefore, it is worth hurrying up with the purchase while the conditions remain favorable.

In April, Ukrainians most often bought Tesla electric cars - the brand's share reached almost 30% among all newly imported electric cars. Nissan holds second place, thanks to the popularity of two generations of Leaf, although it is twice as big as Tesla. Hyundai, thanks to the popularity of the Ioniq and Kona models, came in third place with a share of over 10%.

The Tesla Model Y leads the way, pushing the longtime market favorite, the Nissan Leaf, into second place. In third place is another Tesla, the Model 3.

The average age of imported electric cars was 5.1 years — the lowest indicator among all categories of used cars in Ukraine.
