The implementation of the "Euro-6" standard is postponed until 2027, except for new passenger cars.
The President has signed an extension of tax and customs benefits for the next year, including the postponement of the transition to Euro-6 environmental standards for vehicles until January 1, 2027.
Currently, the final version of the forthcoming law has not yet been published. At the same time, there is no information about changes to the schedule for the implementation of the "Euro" standards compared to the initial draft.
If the text of the law, which will be published in the official journal, remains unchanged, the updated schedule for introducing environmental standards will be as follows:
From January 1, 2025:
- New passenger cars — "Euro-6"
- Used passenger cars — "Euro-2"
- New and used trucks, buses, special-purpose vehicles, and tractor units — "Euro-5"
From January 1, 2027:
- New passenger cars — "Euro-6"
- Used passenger cars — "Euro-2"
- New and used trucks, buses, special-purpose vehicles, and tractor units — "Euro-6"
This decision, considering the current wartime situation, aims to maintain the affordability of vehicles, particularly trucks, buses, special-purpose vehicles, and tractor units. Otherwise, the introduction of the "Euro-6" standard would have led to price increases due to the reduction in the permissible age of vehicles.
