At the end of October 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made important changes to Resolution No. 1235, which concerns the procedure for temporary registration of vehicles arriving as part of humanitarian aid. The most significant innovation is that military personnel now have the right to register such vehicles in their own name.

Main changes and innovations:

1. Registration for an individualPreviously, humanitarian vehicles could only be registered for a military unit. This created certain difficulties in using transport by military personnel to perform specific tasks. Now the procedure has been simplified: cars can be registered for military personnel as individuals. This will make the use of transport more convenient and efficient.

2. Simplified registration procedureServicemen can register cars through the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. To do this, the following documents must be provided:

  • confirmation of receipt of a car as humanitarian aid;
  • documents identifying the vehicle.

The procedure is quick and convenient, allowing you to quickly put the cars into use.

3. Temporary registration Vehicles registered on a temporary basis can be used exclusively for defense purposes. The validity period of the registration depends on current needs and can be extended. This ensures the effective use of transport specifically for military purposes.

4. Exclusive use for defense purposes All vehicles registered under the new rules must be used exclusively for the defense of the country. This once again emphasizes the strategic importance of the innovations in the context of national security.

Why is this important?

The changes in the legislation are aimed at ensuring maximum efficiency in the use of humanitarian vehicles. Personal registration allows the military to resolve transport issues more quickly, avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy. In addition, it opens up more opportunities for the effective use of vehicles in the combat zone or in other areas of defense.
